The co-founder of Yuga Labs, Wylie Aronow aka Gordon Goner, announced he has congestive heart failure and will take a leave of absence from Yuga to focus on his health.
Gordon Goner tweeted “Symptoms started last year out of the blue and I put off seeking help (like an idiot) so I could keep working. But after testing, my doctor called and asked me to radically change my life.”
Aronow revealed how he lost his twenties to a chronic illness and how he worked hard for Yuga which was a second chance in life.
“I pushed myself way past my limits. I worked 12 hours a day, nearly every day. I should have taken the advice from everyone around me and sought balance,” Aronow tweeted.
He stated that his condition is progressing pretty fast so he’s going to focus on his health for a while. Meanwhile, Aronow will stay as a board member and strategic advisor of Yuga Labs.
The Yuga co-founder is really bullish about the appointment of Activision Blizzard President and COO Daniel Alegre as the new CEO of Yuga Labs. The former CEO Nicole Muniz will stay on as a partner and strategic advisor to Yuga Labs.
Gordon Goner added “Not a lot of people outside the space know the extent of what we as a community have done here. I’m proud of everything we’ve achieved and believe Yuga’s impact on web3 is just beginning.”
The community showed Aronow support during this difficult time, wishing him a speedy recovery. Arnow stated his goals now are to get the best medical treatment he can and heal.
