The Algorand Foundation run by proof-of-stake blockchain platform Algorand unveils a series of first-of-its-kind partnerships across India, focused on growing adoption of the Algorand blockchain and developing Web3 devs in India.
According to the announcement, the Algorand Foundation is committed to supporting the creation of employment opportunities and solutions that serve India’s vibrant population.
Algorand is collaborating with India’s top innovation hub T-Hub with more than 600 corporate partners, including Intel, AWS, Boeing, Meta, Microsoft, and Cisco. With the help of this alliance, existing businesses and startups can develop scalable, high-impact blockchain-based solutions.
Last August, Indian crypto leaders launched the ‘India Blockchain Forum’ to facilitate Web3 adoption and blockchain technology at T-HUB Hyderabad, Telangana. IBF will also have several Special Interest Groups (SIGs) to take care of areas like CBDC, Metaverse, Policy framework, and NFTs for blockchain and Web 3.0 adoption.
The Algorand Foundation will introduce faculty development programs, student developer training, and a master class series for businesses looking to move crucial business processes to Web3 via partnerships with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad and the Indian School of Business.
Algorand will also serve as a technology partner for the $50 million Global Climate Resilience Fund, established by the Clinton Foundation and its Clinton Global Initiative with SEWA as a founding partner, with the aim of assisting female micro-entrepreneurs to combat climate change.
The Algorand Foundation, led by CEO Staci Warden, joined The Clinton Foundation and former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Ahmedabad, Gujarat for the launch of the new fund.
Warden stated “At the Algorand Foundation, we are deeply committed to ensuring blockchain lives up to its potential in creating a more inclusive economy in India and across the globe.”
Following the selection of Anil Kakani as India’s Country Head for the foundation in November of last year, Algorand is concentrating on the Indian market. In this new role, Kakani leads AlgoBharat and all India-based programming and projects for Algorand.
Startups and developers interested in Algorand and in this program can apply to participate in a 3-day mini-accelerator event in Hyderabad on March 24–26, 2023.
