The leading Japanese Entertainment company, Square Enix joined hands with Polygon network to fetch a dynamic Web3 experience through a digital collectible art collection, called ‘Symbiogenesis’, a gamified art in the form of NFTs.
The Symbiogenesis project was announced last year in November. According to the former announcement, the sale of 10,000 NFTs is scheduled to launch in spring 2023.
The players can use collected digital art as profile pictures (PFP) and as a character in the game’s storyline. The art evolves with each strategic move a player makes.
The firm released a statement that the project will offer a unique experience “built around digital collectible art that is tied to a storyline players will unfold in a virtual (turn-based) adventure.”

“Symbiogenesis was designed from the ground up on the blockchain and is designed to provide an exceptional experience for both community building and trading,” said Symbiogenesis producer Naoyuki Tamate at Square Enix.
“Square Enix opted to tap into Polygon’s high transaction speeds, low gas fees, and overall user-friendliness to deliver this unique experience to Web3 fans,” Tamate added.
Furthermore, these digital collectibles arts will be tradable as players can replicate and sell their art. Also, it will make the community more interactive to accomplish the mission.
On the climax mission, only three qualified players will be selected to participate in the final mission called, “World Mission”. The press release states, “these special three will decide the ending of the story, the fate of the world, and everyone in it.”
Square Enix is striving to embrace Web 3 space by developing blockchain-based gaming projects. Lately, the firm revealed that it has “multiple blockchain games based on original [intellectual property] under development.”
As time passes, the market for web-3 gaming projects is gradually expanding its boundaries. As per the report, the venture capital has invested approximately $1.5 billion into web-3-based projects.
