Two leading metaverse spaces, Upland and Decentraland announced their partnership to bring one of the biggest festivals in the world, ‘The Brazilian Carnival’ into the metaverse.
The festival is about to take place between February 17 and 25. Through this major partnership, so many metaverse users across the world will get lucky to experience incredible glimpses virtually from locations in Salvador, São Paulo, and Rio de Janeiro.
The partnership reflects the potential of the metaverse concept for the amalgamation of the virtual and real world. Through the metaverse, different countries and cultures can erase their boundaries and make people around the world together in virtual spaces.

Upland’s Co-CEO and Co-founder Dirk Lueth stated, “This is an early example of the future, where interoperability between worlds and metaverses fuels enrichment in a user’s digital life. Major cultural moments like Carnival are tentpoles for opportunities to continue to explore this inevitable future.”
The first event ‘TRUBAND’ took place in the metaverse space on Feb 10. In total, 8 events have been scheduled around two metaverse spaces, 6 out of these will be organized on Decentraland and the remaining 2 will be performed on Upland.
In the exclusive Brazilian Carnival, visitors can dance with their avatars, dress in Carnival costumes, and perform samba moves. Apart from this, famous influencers like Nina Verso and Tang Poko will join Decentraland Carnival parties and spend time with visitors at the Dollhouse party venue.
