The popular French apparel brand Lacoste filed five NFT and Metaverse-related trademark applications for “CHAMPS-ELYSEES”, at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on 17th February 2023.
According to one filing, Lacoste intends to launch animated designs, avatars, etc for use in the metaverse, and exchange services for the purchase and sale of NFTs registered on a blockchain network.
Another filing indicates Lacoste’s intention to provide education, training, entertainment, and sporting and cultural activities in a virtual environment.
The apparel brand aims to launch virtual and non-downloadable covers for mobile phones, respiratory protection masks for non-medical respiratory protection, jewelry, watches and accessories, leather goods, luggage, wallets, sports bags, backpacks, etc for use in the metaverse.
Lacoste is even gearing up to offer real estate services in a virtual environment. It also plans to launch downloadable virtual goods featuring eyewear, wallets, linens, bath and beach towels, shoes, clothing, headwear, sports equipment, toys, etc, for use online and in online virtual worlds.
“Downloadable image files containing artwork authenticated by NFT, downloadable computer software for managing cryptocurrency transactions using blockchain technology, downloadable virtual reality game software; downloadable electronic game software,” are listed in one filing.
