The Australian-based gaming studio and a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, Grease Monkey Games, disclosed its partnership with Mishimoto to unravel the NFT car racing game “Torque Drift 2”.
The collaboration will leverage the Polygon blockchain network to fetch web3 gaming experience and bring exclusive Mishimoto licensed utility NFTs to Torque Drift 2.
In the press release, Animoca Brands revealed that Torque Drift 2 is planned to launch in 2024, following its earlier demo in the second quarter of 2023. Furthermore, the game will be a part of the REVV Motorsport ecosystem of metaverse racing games.
Metaverse and web3 gaming is the growing sector among other blockchain aspects. The online gaming market is expected to skyrocket with a $256 billion valuation by 2025.

Arran Potter, the founder and managing director of Grease Monkey Games, stated in the press release, “we are all about bringing the thrill and excitement of car culture to gamers worldwide. Through this partnership, Mishimoto will assist gaming designs with its automotive expertise. It will fill the virtual space with iconic parts such as intercoolers and gear shifters. Players will be able to customize their in-game vehicles to boost performance.
