Bored Ape Yacht Club’s (BAYC) gaming experience Dookey Dash’s winner Kyle “Mongraal” Jackson declines a $1.1 million bid made by the United Planetary DAO (UPDAO) on his Golden Key in OpenSea.
Mongraal was declared the winner of BAYC’s Dookey Dash among 25,000+ players.. He then listed his #1 ranked Sewer Pass Golden Key #21915, in OpenSea for 2,222 ETH, approximately $3.6 million.
UPDAO is the overarching governance entity of the much-anticipated Web3 game Inhabitants Universe by Pixel Vault. The UPDAO community approved a proposal to bid 690 WETH or $1,1130,000 on the #1 ranked Sewer Pass.
The proposal received 15,081 votes in favor of the bid, and 1,709 votes against it. UPDAO was determined to make further determinations through community consultations about how best to leverage the “Golden Key.”
UPDAO tweeted “@Mongraal, THE BALL IS IN YOUR COURT,” to which Fortnite star player Mongraal replied, “Double it and I’ll accept.”
Unfortunately, the bid expired as Mongraal was not interested in UPDAO’s proposal. Now online platform 9GAG has placed a bid of 999 WETH, about $1.6 million on the Golden Key which will expire in seven days, if Mongraal doesnt accept it.
The UPDAO proposal did note that “The Golden Key will then become a community asset as part of the treasury, that can be used for gamification, IP development or participation in other activities at the communities direction.”
PixelVault’s Head of Communications David “economist” Litsky tweeted “The @UPDAO_ offered what it felt was a fair price with regard to a 1/1 mystery box tied to a vibrant ecosystem. Doubling an offer just to “win” makes zero sense when no new info was presented. Wishing @Mongraal the best in his journey to sell this NFT.”
