Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) founder Yuga Labs is the latest one to join the hype of Bitcoin Ordinals protocol as it announces a new NFT collection “TwelveFold” on the Bitcoin blockchain.
TwelveFold is an original and experimental 300-piece generative art collection inscribed onto satoshis that will live on the Bitcoin blockchain.
The collection will be a base 12 art system localized around a 12×12 grid, a visual allegory for the cartography of data on the Bitcoin blockchain.
TwelveFold pays homage to the present handwritten ordinal inscriptions by combining finely rendered 3D elements with hand-drawn features.
In the upcoming week, Yuga Labs will make additional announcements regarding the schedule and the details of the auction of the TwelveFold NFT collection.
Yuga stated “Stepping into the Ordinals Discord a month ago felt like getting a glimpse of the 2017-era Ethereum NFT ecosystem. It’s the type of energy and excitement we love at Yuga.”
“We expect this technology and the ecosystem around it to evolve and become more sophisticated over time, however, we don’t expect it to evolve in the same ways other blockchain NFT ecosystems have,” the BAYC founder added.
Bitcoin Ordinals protocol is all the rage nowadays with even NFT giants like Yuga now a part of the ecosystem. Recently, Solana-based ‘DeGods’ NFTs also joined the Bitcoin Ordinals trend. As time passes, its popularity will depend on how the infrastructure and tooling around inscriptions on Bitcoin will be improved.
