The CEO of the largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance, Changpeng Zhao, once again announced his support for Voyager’s acquisition by his U.S. Partner, Binance U.S.
Voyager, a cryptocurrency broker and a crypto lender, filed for bankruptcy in 2022. After filing for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, Voyager signed an agreement to be acquired by Binance US on 19 December 2022.
Binance Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Changpeng Zhao (CZ) reiterated his support for securing the Voyager Digital deal in a Thursday tweet because the United Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) and New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) are opposing and continue to investigate the deal.
Thursday at a court hearing, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge, Michael Wiles, criticized the regulator’s lack of knowledge and indefinite allegation on the proposed deal.
Despite the controversy, Changpeng Zhao (CZ) is still committed to favouring the acquisition deal and helping ‘return funds’ to users as soon as possible, if permitted.
Before this tweet, Zhao hinted at calling off the deal, saying, “Maybe we should pull out?” But this clarification statement raises hope among the users to get a refund.
