On April 24, 2023, tech giant Amazon is allegedly unveiling its NFT marketplace “Amazon Digital Marketplace” with plans to grow within the web3 ecosystem.
The marketplace was apparently planned to go live sooner, but it was delayed for a number of reasons, with even the collapse of FTX cited as a reason by insiders.
The platform will initially begin providing the service to U.S. users before eventually expanding to other nations. Only an Amazon account and a credit card can be used to buy NFTs on the new platform.
On the actual launch day, Amazon will reportedly begin selling roughly 15 NFT collections on the platform. Users can view the NFT collections on Amazon’s website by selecting the “Amazon Digital Marketplace” button.
In January, it was revealed that Amazon is reportedly launching an NFT project – digital assets enterprise. According to two insiders, it will be based on Amazon rather than its web hosting platform, Amazon Web Services (AWS).
