The Polygon Labs and web 3 gaming platform, Immutable combined a force to develop Immutable zkEVM to boost web 3 gaming development.
The launch of Immutable zkEVM is scheduled for in upcoming months, which will be a new EVM-compatible ZK-rollup on the Polygon network for blockchain-based web 3 gaming development. The platform will allow developers to build games faster, easier, and less risky for prominent studios as well as independent developers.
In the announcement, Polygon stated, “Polygon Labs and Immutable, crowned by Delphi Digital as “the undisputed champions of Ethereum gaming,” are coming together at an important juncture for Web3.”
Currently, nearly 50% of blockchain activity in 2022 has been seen in the form of games. The collaboration will allow the developer to the simple decision-making process and underlying the fastest route from concept to launch. The blog post claims that the launch will open up the largest and most liquid ecosystem for end users.
Already, some prominent gaming studios are building on the Polygon network, including Ubisoft, Atari, Animoca, Decentraland, Somnium Space, and The Sandbox.

The announcement came before the launch of Polygon zkEVM Mainnet Beta on March 27, which will provide a significant boost to the scaling solution on the Ethereum network for upcoming projects.
