The Indian Railways revolutionizes its operations by leveraging blockchain technology to produce phygital NFT certificates minted on the Polygon network.
The National Academy of Indian Railways (NAIR) held a workshop to educate railway officials about the potential benefits of Blockchain and Emerging Technologies in the railway industry.
The requirement for unified certificate validation at NAIR to “accurately identify Railway professionals’ skills & accreditation” was one of the key issues mentioned in the workshop.
To solve this problem, ChainCode Consulting created Phygital NFT Certificates on the Polygon network, which were then distributed to the workshop attendees.
Indian Railways issued these blockchain-verifiable certificates as NFTs by leveraging ChainCode’s top product ‘NFTrace.’ The phygital NFT certificates are reliable, secure, traceable, verifiable, everlasting, inimitable, tamper-proof, and sustainable.
Attendees at the workshop were made aware of how smart contracts can be used to analyze, identify, and prevent critical failures, automate maintenance needs, improve vendor ecosystems, and provide a real-time, automated, and highly available ticketing solution.
Regarding the integration, Polygon stated: “The integration of blockchain in the Indian railway ecosystem marks the beginning of A NEW ERA for Indian Railways and is an exciting step towards mass adoption of the technology. We are immensely proud to be along for the ride.”
Last October, Indian Police and Polygon immortalized complaints in blockchain via a web portal. Polygon blockchain enabled benefits like immutable complaints & transparency and due to its nature, the complaints once registered can’t be deleted or manipulated.
