A bill in favor of the Bitcoin economy has been introduced in the Texas House of Representatives, that welcomes and provides protection to the Bitcoin community.
The bill introduced by Harris of Anderson read: “The Lone Star State has certain principles regarding items of value that are embedded in the Texas Constitution, and these principles should be applied to all citizens with respect to the use and storage of Bitcoin.”
The 88th Legislature of the State of Texas is tied to providing support for “protecting individuals” involved in Bitcoin-related operations including mining and trading. Furthermore, the bill asks to form a law that in the future no law or resolution would take against Bitcoin miners that would ensure the security of the network.
Furthermore, the state would provide support to Bitcoin miners with “any form of energy” to keep Bitcoin network operations secured and uninterrupted.
The bill will also ensure the rights of Bitcoin holders and any Bitcoin owners would be free to make crypto transactions without any censorship.
“The immunity afforded by censorship-resistant spending of Bitcoin and the ability to store Bitcoin in an unhosted wallet without undue interference from any state agency; these protections shall be extended to Bitcoin owners in accordance with Section 19, Article I, Texas Constitution,” stated in the bill.
Between ongoing devastation in the U.S. banking sectors, many U.S. states are adopting different stances against cryptocurrency and other digital assets. Recently, U.S. state of Florida governor, Ron DeSantis introduced legislation to ban the CBDC in the state to protect consumers and businesses from a federally controlled CBDC.
