Unfortunate news for the tech world! It sadden us to bring this news to you. The Chief Product Officer at MobileCoin, the ex-chief technology officer of Square, and Cash App creator, Bob Lee aka “Crazy Bob” was reportedly stabbed to death in San Francisco.
According to the San Fransico Police (SFPD) report, “On April 4, 2023, at approximately 2:35 a.m., San Francisco Police officers from Southern Station responded to the 300 block of Main Street for a report of a stabbing. Officers arrived on scene and located a 43-year-old adult male victim suffering from apparent stab wounds.”
MobileCoin CEO Joshua Goldbard mourned Bob’s death stating: “Bob was a force of nature. He helped to birth Android and CashApp into our world. Moby was his dream: a privacy-protecting wallet for the 21st century. I will miss him every day.”
Block CEO Jack Dorsey wrote on nostr “It’s real. Getting calls. Heartbreaking. Bob was instrumental to Square and Cash App. STL guy.”
The tech industry is grieving the untimely passing of Bob Lee, who made a significant contribution to the field. SFPD stated that investigations are ongoing and that no arrests have been made as of yet.
