The new initiative zVentures Web3 Incubator (ZW3I), launched by gaming hardware and accessories company Razer, aims to support Web3 gaming projects and bring them to mainstream audiences.
Razer has the potential to have a huge impact on the future of Web3 gaming thanks to its strong brand recognition and large user base of almost 200 million gamers.
ZW3I will choose game developers for its incubation programme who have “a solid track record in generating successful games” to assist in bringing Web3-enabled games to mainstream audiences.
Razer has not provided any information regarding the scope or sum of cash allocated for ZW3I, claiming its status as a private company. It is important to remember that zVentures had a $30 million capital when it began operating in 2016.
Via its current investments in blockchain and cryptocurrency companies Monsoon Digital, Forte.io, TripleA Finblox, Coinomo, and Web3 game company Animoca Brands, Razer has demonstrated its interest in venture capital and dedication to cryptocurrencies and Web3.

Razer recognizes that first-generation Web3 games have not successfully captured the general audience’s attention.
The next generation of Web3 games, according to builders (or BUIDLers, in Web3 lingo), will be more successful in attracting traditional gamers by emphasizing engaging gameplay and fulfilling social interaction.Â
With ZW3I, Razer hopes to create “immersive” and “engaging” experiences.
