The fall of many large crypto exchanges and leading banks has caused an uproar in the entire crypto community. To combat this, the US government now wants to enforce proper regulation on all the crypto banks and firms in the U.S for which they are hiring more attorneys.
According to the United States government’s official career portal on April 10, the Security and Exchange Commission is set to hire general attorneys for a crypto enforcement division in New York, Washington, DC and San Francisco, California.
In March the regulator’s Crypto Assets and Cypress Unit (CACU) was set to acquire additional staff for roughly 20-person. The staffing requirement has doubled in numbers only a few days after the US government started recruiting attorneys for the CACU unit.
After joining the CACU, attorneys will have responsibilities including “investigating complex, fast-moving investigations”, preparing robust investigative or litigation plans, drafting legal documents including subpoenas or document requests, making depositions and collecting evidence. evaluation and much more.
This job opening is only for US citizens who have passed JD or LLB degree. Applicants have to apply before 17th April. Interestingly, the salary will range from $14,000 to $260,000 per year depending on the location.
