The CEO of the largest Bitcoin holding firm MicroStrategy, Michael Saylor, has linked Bitcoin’s Lightning Network to his official email address, allowing anyone to transact Bitcoin through the email address ‘saylor@microstrategy.com’.
The integration of email addresses is made possible through the Lightning Address protocol, which is Bitcoin’s layer 2 scaling solution. By utilising the protocol, developers can substitute a conventional Lightning invoice or payment request with an online identification method like an email address, as part of the integration process.
Microstrategy has been actively growing its Bitcoin stake by mass adoption of Bitcoins. After the latest acquisition of Bitcoins, Microstrategy is now holding up 140K BTC, making it a prominent Bitcoin holder.
After Michael Saylor disclosed the integration of his corporate email address with Lightning Network, some of his followers sent small Bitcoin donations.
