The internet sleuth ZachXBT called American rapper Soulja Boy a “shameless promoter” for promoting various fraudulent crypto and non-fungible token (NFT) projects.
He disclosed that among 73 promotions & 16 NFT drops prompted by him since 2021, many of them were scams.
ZachXBT has also highlighted the latest complaint filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) against eight celebrities. The federal agency charged allegations on Soulja Boy and other celebrities like Lindsay Lohan, Jake Paul, Akon, and Ne-Yo for promoting Tronix (TRX) and BitTorrent (BTT) without disclosing compensation.
In another case, he was sued by the SEC for Safemoon.
Furthermore, he recently dropped 7 NFTs that featured Ferrari & Nike logos. After finding IP infringement, Opensea blocked the collection on its platform.
In the previous cryptocurrency market surge, Soulja Boy was charging up to $12,000 for promoting on Instagram and $10,000 for Twitter promotions. Based on these figures, these promotions would have earned him approximately $730,000, in addition to the earnings from his multiple NFT collections.
ZachXBT stated on Tweet, “It’s abundantly clear Soulja Boy will do anything to make money regardless of whether or not it hurts his fans. I suspect there are more examples than what I found.”
