After conquering the IRL markets Nike’s .SWOOSH Web3 platform is here to conquer the digital market with its latest debutant NFT sneaker collection, amassing $1M+ sales despite persistent delays and technical challenges, affecting user experience.
Nike’s much-awaited virtual creations went on sale on May 15, slightly delayed from the initial date of May 8. The “First Access” round was exclusive to users who received special “posters” as entry tickets, with a total of 106,453 distributed early.SWOOSH community members.
Over 66,000 NFTs have been sold as of Thursday, with each priced at $19.82, symbolizing the Air Force 1 sneaker’s release year. Nike has generated approximately $1.3 million in sales, and the ongoing sale will conclude on June 1.
Nike’s NFT launch faced multiple delays and technical challenges, leading to frustration among eager buyers. However, updates indicate slower sales compared to anticipated demand, with more than a third of the OF1 NFTs still available for purchase despite the popularity of Nike’s physical sneaker releases.

Despite these challenges, the sale progressed, with a substantial number of NFTs remaining available. Nike extended the sale and addressed issues while celebrating the success of over 55,000 boxes sold to more than 30,000 buyers.
