The United States House of Representatives Financial Services Committee has revealed plans for a hearing titled “The Future of Digital Assets: Providing Clarity for the Digital Asset Ecosystem.”
Scheduled for June 13 at 2:00 pm Eastern Time, this hearing aims to offer guidance and insights into the future of cryptocurrency. The committee, responsible for overseeing the country’s economy, will livestream the event on its website.
Although specific details about the topics to be covered have not been disclosed, members of the crypto community are hopeful that critical issues, such as recent lawsuits against exchanges like Binance and Coinbase by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), will be addressed. Furthermore, there are calls to hold SEC Chair Gary Gensler accountable for his actions and his adherence to previous discussions held during hearings.
This announcement follows a previous hearing conducted by the US House of Representatives Agricultural Committee, where they discussed the draft bill authored by Representative Patrick McHenry and House Ag Chair Glenn Thompson. The bill focused on providing clarity for digital asset spot markets.
