German footwear conglomerate Puma recently introduced a captivating virtual realm called Black Station on June 13. According to the developers, Black Station serves as an immersive hub for exclusive product releases, designed to offer unparalleled privileges to Puma Pass NFT owners.
The developers have stated that while the Black Station experience is open for everyone to explore, the ability to purchase a digital “Rulebreaker” sneaker and acquire two digital wearables is exclusive to those who possess RB tokens, which were airdropped to Puma Pass holders. As of now, RB tokens are priced at 0.0125 Ether.
The developers have elaborated on this in their statement, “If you do not own an RB token there is still so much to explore. Unkai, our city in the clouds, and Unter, our exhilarating club below, both are filled with mysteries to explore and collect.”
From June 13th to June 20th, RB token holders have the opportunity to burn their tokens within the Black Station platform. This action will provide their parent wallet with access to a range of product drops in the metaverse. As per the roadmap, Black Station has additional general events and Non-fungible tokens (NFT) drops planned for this year, while events for 2024 are being developed.
The Black Station experience will be available for exploration until June 23rd. Puma had previously expressed interest in exploring other blockchain platforms, but ultimately made the decision to continue operating on Ethereum. In addition to using ETH and connecting one’s wallet, users also have the option to purchase digital collectibles using a credit card.
Back in February 2022, Puma registered an Ethereum Name Service domain and changed its Twitter name to Puma.eth. During that time, Puma had made investments in several NFT collections inspired by felines, such as Cool Cats, Lazy Lions, Gutter Cat Gang, and Catbox.
