A leading Latin American cryptocurrency services provider Ripio has received approval from the Bank of Spain to operate as a crypto exchange in the country.
The green light was announced by Sebastián Serrano, CEO of Ripio, via a recent tweet.
This move places Ripio in the same arena with other notable exchanges already operating in Spain, including Bit2Me, Bitpanda, Crypto.com, Bitstamp, and BVNK.
Ripio’s expansion into Spain signifies a significant milestone for the firm, which is already active in various markets including Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, and the United States.
With a user base of approximately 8 million, Ripio facilitates transactions worth $200 million per month, as stated by the company.
The approval allows Ripio to enhance its global presence and tap into Spain’s burgeoning cryptocurrency market, further solidifying its position as a global player in the crypto industry.
The move is expected to provide Spanish cryptocurrency enthusiasts with more options for buying, selling, and trading digital assets.
