An interoperability protocol, Rarimo is making Polygon ID available on Ethereum. Polygon ID’s integration with Rarimo will allow it to expand across multiple blockchains.
Last week, Rarimo announced the collaboration with Polygon ID allowing users to use their credentials over different blockchain networks.
The announcement describes that before its integration with Rarimo, Polygon ID could only be used on the chain it originally deployed. For instance, a credential issued on the Polygon network could only be used on Polygon. To use it on Ethereum, users needed to issue credentials separately on the Ethereum network.
With the integration, Polygon ID will soon be available on EVM chains and other networks such as BNB Chain and Avalanche. Rarimo said, “A range of additional chains will be added with time,” stating the number of networks it can scale to is limitless.
Polygon ID was launched in March 2022 with its tech stack made open-source this year. It is built on zk-proofs which ensures a high level of privacy and novel security in on-chain identity verification.
