The digital art and NFT platform Palm Network announced its plan to transit into a Polygon ZKSupernet. This collaboration is supported by the industry leader developer ConsenSys.
Currently being an Ethereum sidechain, Palm Network is devloped to provide a high performance, low-cost and customizable infrastructure with this move. The upgrade will ensure seamless user experience during high network activity.
The migration process involves two significant steps towards Palm becoming a ZK Supernet. The first step is considering its migration into a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) chain, scheduled for August, 2023. In the second step, the network will be upgraded into a Polygon Zk Supernet in 2024.
With this collaboration, Palm Foundation and Polygon Labs aim to focus on empowering creators, democratizing art and nurturing a vibrant ecosystem for the future of digital art.
Palm Network will inherit Polygon’s features such as high-speed execution, enhanced security and robust scalability to enable minting, trading and collecting NFTs more efficiently.
Polygon is currently at the very center of the blockchain industry with it attracting partnerships from different sectors including governments, traditional finance and also within tech. This week, Italy’s central bank launched a project to explore DeFi with Polygon.
