The 3rd generation blockchain, Solana announced its web3 smartphone Saga in June 2022. Saga mobile phone is a flagship android device and it is integrated with Solana blockchain that enhances web3 exploring experience.
Solana Mobile, the subsidiary of Solana that looks after Saga production, said in an announcement that it is reducing the price of Saga to $599, a decrease of roughly 40% from its launch price of $1000.
The announcement said, “Reducing Saga’s price is the next step to get wider adoption of mobile web3 and continue to improve the experience for the Solana mobile community.”
Saga mobile phone was officially released in April, 2023 and thousands of users purchased it over the months. The web3 native mobile phone is built using Mobile Solana Stack. The buyer of this mobile device is rewarded with a Saga genesis NFT token.
The mobile phone is not released worldwide with it available in countries including US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and some EU countries.
