The crypto exchange Coinbase announced that it will suspend trading for the largest stablecoin, Tether (USDT), with RAI and DAI in Canada. The company revealed this to customers via email.
The message to users reads, “We regularly monitor the assets on our exchange to ensure they meet our listing standards. Based on our most recent reviews, Coinbase will suspend trading in Canada for RAI Reflex Index (RAI), Dai (DAI), and Tether (USDT) on Aug. 31 around 12 pm ET.”
Recently, Coinbase made an expansion into the Canadian market with Interac e-transfers. These three stablecoins, Tether (USDT), RAI, and DAI, did not meet Coinbase listing requirements, which is why suspension of trading is in the plan, said the company.
However, after the trading suspension, users can access all three stablecoin wallets and can deposit and withdraw the stablecoins.
