Adidas has launched a new Web3 residency program for digital artists. The program, called “Residency by Adidas,” will give artists from around the world the chance to showcase their work and collaborate with Adidas on both digital and physical items.
The new program was introduced by Adidas’s Three Stripes Studio and will be unveiled during Korea Blockchain Week in Seoul this September.
Adidas perceives the Residency as a platform to uplift digital creators and favor collaborations with actual products in the future. This program marks the merging of fashion, digital artistry, and blockchain.
This event will include a range of Ethereum NFT artworks, some of which are limited editions and others that are open editions.
In their inaugural digital art sale, they will showcase artworks from two artists known as MonkeeMoto and Adra Kandil, who also go by the name Dear Nostalgia.
MonkeeMoto, based in Tokyo, has a background in game development and digital concept design.
On the other hand, Adra Kandil, a Lebanese artist, combines various artistic elements such as photography, collages, typography, and digital montages.
Adra Kandil has previously collaborated with well-known fashion brands like Gucci, Chanel, Cartier, and Roberto Cavalli.
Both artists will release a limited number of NFT artworks, with each artist offering just 100 of these exclusive pieces.
These limited edition NFTs will be priced at 0.15 Ethereum (ETH) each. Importantly, these exclusive NFTs will only be accessible to people attending the Seoul event.
Stacey King, Global head of communications and activation for Adidas, said, “This project is another big step for our Studio as we continue to explore, experiment, and diversify our impact and value in the Web3 Community.“
