Google will update policies for cryptocurrencies and related products in September 2023. From September 15, advertisers who offer NFT games and do not promote gambling-related content will be allowed to promote goods and services by Google.
To approve their advertising, they must comply with Google’s gambling and games policy and obtain the necessary Google Ads certification.
They have to meet certain requirements; like they will allow promotion of NFT based games that allow players to buy in-game items like virtual apparel for a player’s characters, weaponry, or armor that will enhance the game experience or help them progress in the game.
Google banned some game ads that allow players “to wager or stake NFTs in exchange for the opportunity to win anything of real-world value (including other NFTs).” Google will also prohibit social casino games that offer rewards for NFT and “real money gambling” destinations that involve gambling-related ads that appear on the game destinations.
Google also mentioned, “Violations of this policy will not lead to immediate account suspension without prior warning. A warning will be issued, at least 7 days, before any suspension of your account.”
