According to reports, Apple, the most valuable company in the world, has acquired the rights to the upcoming book about Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of FTX. The book, which will be published, will be similar to a documentary or a brief TV series about SBF and his former empire.
The collapse of FTX was unquestionably the biggest news in the cryptocurrency sector, even in finance, in the second half of 2022. Samuel Bankman-Fried, the once-dominant empire’s leader and the industry’s golden boy, saw his empire fall apart in a matter of days, costing investors billions of dollars.
SBF himself has repeatedly refused to admit guilt to charges that he knew what he was doing when defrauding users and investors, unlike many former FTX and Alameda executives who opted to do so.
On October 3, the SBF’s case is scheduled to start. Coincidentally, that same day will also see the publication of Michael Lewis’ book, Going Infinite: The Rise and Fall of a New Tycoon, which is about the SBF. As the title suggests, the book will also tell the story of a year of SBF’s life, mentioning his rise, downfall, arrest, and extradition.
A recent report claimed that a bidding war broke out when the rights to write the book attracted so much interest. However, Apple came out as the winner, paying five million dollars for the rights.
