The DeFi protocol, Balancer, has suffered a security attack with hackers hijacking the protocol’s domain and frontend, which leads to a phishing website.
The attackers have taken over Balancer’s website, which redirects to a look-alike frontend. Crypto analyst ZachXBT confirms that hackers have stolen approximately $238k through this attack so far.Â
While Balancer’s vaults remain uncompromised in the attack, several users have had their wallets drained as they were prompted to approve a malicious contract while interacting with the website.
Balancer warned users not to interact with its frontend until further notice. The website currently shows severe caution to users while visiting.
The Balancer Team confirmed in Discord chat that Protocol’s funds are 100% fine and they are working on the issue.
This is the second major attack within a month on Balancer, as previously in August, it was also exposed to a vulnerability that led to an exploit of $900k a week later.
