NHN Corporation, a publicly traded IT company, has joined forces with Mysten Labs to step into the world of web3 technology.
Specifically, NHN’s gaming division is teaming up with Mysten Labs, which played a significant role in creating the Sui blockchain.
The Sui Network is particularly well-suited for designing web3 games because it offers benefits like very low transaction fees, fast processing of transactions, and the ability to handle a lot of activity at once.
This means game developers can create games that are not controlled by a single entity, are very secure, and give players true ownership of their in-game items and assets.
Through this partnership with Mysten Labs, NHN is making sure it stays ahead in the global gaming industry by embracing web3 technology, which is all about decentralization, security, and player ownership in the world of gaming.
Evan Cheng, CEO and co-founder of Mysten Labs, said, “It’s a code web3, as a whole, has not managed to crack, with daily active users on the most popular chains barely topping 300K.”
NHN is the biggest creator of games that resemble casino games but can be played on social platforms in the Asia-Pacific region. They are known for making games like Hangame Poker, and they are really good at designing games that keep players coming back for more.
NHN’s games have been played by more than 37 million people on various devices like smartphones, computers, and the internet. In the three months from April to June 2023, NHN Gaming made about $80 million in money.
