MoneyGram, one of the world’s largest money transfer companies, has announced plans to launch a non-custodial crypto wallet in Q1 2024. The wallet will allow consumers around the world to seamlessly move from fiat to digital currency and back again, using the same global brand they trust.
The MoneyGram crypto wallet will be non-custodial, which means that users will have full control over their private keys.
The wallet is being created in partnership with Cheesecake Labs and will be powered by Stellar, a decentralized open-source network for currencies and payments.
The wallet will also be integrated with MoneyGram’s existing money transfer network, making it easy for users to convert fiat currency to cryptocurrency and vice versa. MoneyGram promises to waive the transaction fees until 2024
“We are excited to partner with Stellar to bring our customers a non-custodial crypto wallet that is easy to use and provides them with the security they need,” said Alex Holmes, MoneyGram’s chairman and CEO. “This new offering will allow our customers to have more control over their money and make it easier for them to send and receive cryptocurrency.”
