Decentralized oracle network Chainlink claims that its novel Risk Management Network is capable of protecting Cross-chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) against all kinds of security attacks.
While speaking at SmartCon 2023, Chainlink’s Head of Research and Development, Lorenz Breidenbach, said that the mechanics of the Risk Management Network utilize the N-version programming.
“It (Risk Management Network) applies a principle from 80’s that’s been successfully used in other mission critical industry, like aerospace industry to cross chain protocols,” said Lorenz.
Risk Management Network is a component of Chainlink’s Cross-chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) that is completely independent and built by a different team. It enhances CCIP’s security by providing secondary validation to detect malicious activity.
Chainlink launched CCIP on Base last week, which makes it easy for developers to build cross-chain applications while leveraging a high-speed and scalable infrastructure.
