Trezor, a major company known for providing secure hardware wallets for cryptocurrencies, is celebrating its 10th anniversary with the release of three new self-custody products which includes a new Trezor wallet, a solution for securely backing up private keys, and a wallet exclusively for Bitcoin (BTC).
The Czech Republic-based company officially unveiled the Trezor Safe 3 on October 12. This new hardware wallet is capable of storing more than 7,000 different cryptocurrencies which is priced at $79 and is available in four different colors: solar gold, stellar silver, galactic rose, and cosmic black.
Trezor emphasized that the launch of this new wallet comes almost five years after Trezor introduced the Trezor Model T in February 2018.
The new wallet device from Trezor is committed to open-source development, which means it follows the principles of transparency and collaboration. Trezor has chosen a secure component supplier that lets them share any security issues they find.
Apart from the Trezor Safe 3, Trezor has introduced its physical solution for storing private keys, called Trezor Keep Metal.
It’s crucial to safeguard the seed phrase or private key because they are more important than the physical wallet device. Even if a user loses or damages the hardware wallet, having the seed phrase or private key allows the user to regain access to its funds.
Trezor CEO Matej Zak regards Trezor Keep Metal as a significant element of Trezor’s dedication to improving user-friendliness, with the ultimate goal of increasing the worldwide acceptance of cryptocurrency.
The Trezor Keep Metal is available for $99 and offers the capability to store both 12-word and 24-word standard backup phrases. Additionally, the Trezor Keep Metal, which is designed for storing three 20-word Shamir backup phrases, is priced at $249.
To commemorate the company’s anniversary, Trezor has introduced a limited-edition Bitcoin-only hardware wallet, with only 2,013 units available.
In a show of appreciation for Bitcoin’s potential to empower individuals in disadvantaged and marginalized communities, Trezor has pledged to donate $21 from each sale to support the Trezor Academy, an educational initiative focused on Bitcoin.
