The EOS network foundation has announced that EOS EVM v0.6.0 is now live, bringing several seamless interactions between EOS Native and EOS EVM.
EOS EVM v0.6.0 has new features, including trustless bridge support for ERC20 tokens, USDT (EOS Native) added to the trustless bridge, and Cross Virtual Machine (VM) communication.
EOS EVM v0.6.0 maintains the platform’s full EVM compatibility while improving the trustless bridge’s functionality. The upgrade to EOS EVM 0.6.0 will open doors to USDT’s EOS Native version, which will be represented on the EOS EVM by an ERC-20 token.
Users on EOS EVM can now access USDT (EOS) without depending on third-party bridges or trust assumptions, thanks to this new feature. While this new feature is only available for EOS and USDT at the moment, more EOS native tokens are planned to be added in later updates.
One can deposit USDT to the EOS EVM by starting a token transfer for USDT to the ‘eosio.evmin’ EOS account and entering the receiving EVM public key in the memo field. Now, USDT can be added to or removed from any centralized exchange that accepts Tether for EOS Native. Binance, Bitfinex, Kucoin, MEXC, and GateIO are a few of these exchanges.
