Following Hamas’ attacks on October 7, more than 100 Binance accounts have been frozen at the request of Israeli law enforcement to reduce the Palestinian militant group’s funding, as per the report from the Financial Times.
According to the report, which cited people with knowledge of the situation, authorities have asked for details on an additional 200 cryptocurrency accounts, most of which are based on Binance.
Due to the war against the Palestinian enclave of Gaza and Israel, the Israeli government, in collaboration with the public and cryptocurrency companies, attempting to stop financial transfers to Hamas, classified as a terrorist organization by the United States, the United Kingdom, and numerous other international jurisdictions.
Binance gave an assurance last week that it was collaborating with Israeli authorities to stop the funding of terrorism. The company stated that it had “blocked” a “small number” of accounts on the network, but it would not disclose the precise figure.
