The Norman Rockwell Museum and the Norman Rockwell Family have announced a new project on Wednesday. They are launching a series that combines digital and physical art, making it available for collectors through NFTs.
This series is called “Studio Sessions: The Norman Rockwell Collection.” It’s the first time the Rockwell estate is venturing into the world of NFTs. They partnered with Iconic, a digital platform that helps traditional art organizations explore new technologies. Iconic previously worked with the Jackson Pollock Studio to release a similar set of NFTs on the Ethereum network.
“Studio Sessions” will launch on November 1, exclusively on Iconic’s website and the artworks included in this collection will be kept a secret until the release date. The NFTs will be available for buying using either a credit card or Ethereum, although the exact prices for each piece haven’t been disclosed yet.
“Studio Sessions” will showcase preliminary sketches, photographs, drawings, and painted color studies that influenced each of his paintings. Each installment in the series will center around a well-known Rockwell artwork, and every NFT in the collection will come with a corresponding limited-edition, high-quality print suitable for a museum.
The fund raised from the sale will support the primary goals of the Norman Rockwell Museum, to make Rockwell’s art accessible to the public, foster the growth of new illustrators, and oversee the management of the artist’s work and legacy by the Norman Rockwell Family.
