October 31 is remarked as one of the important days in cryptocurrency history as it has set a fundamental base for the whole crypto ecosystem when Bitcoin Whitepaper was released.
The mysterious creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto published the Bitcoin Whitepaper titled “Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System” on October 31, 2008, which is now hosted on the official Bitcoin website.
While the document being considered the building block for today’s $1.28 trillion of crypto industry, it celebrates the 15th anniversary on October 31, 2023.
It is believed that Satoshi Nakamoto created the whitepaper during the 2007-08’s Wall Street Crash. On 1st November 2008, Nakamoto cited whitepaper in an email sent to a cryptography mailing list.
It includes the blueprint and understanding of the whole system on which the cryptocurrency works which is described as “peer-to-peer electronic cash.” Surprisingly, the word “Bitcoin” is only mentioned two times throughout the document.
According to early adopters of Bitcoin, Satoshi mentioned in one of the emails that he had been working on Bitcoin for two years and he prepared the whitepaper as his last task for launching it.
Bitcoin today has become a new asset class with a market cap of $672 billion which at a point reached $1.3 trillion when BTC hit its all time high in November 2021.
