Cryptocurrency trader Avraham Eisenberg will not face trial until April 8, 2024. This delay was approved by the judge who is handling the case of the person accused of exploiting a crypto trading platform, Mango Markets. The delay was granted just one month before the trial was initially set to start.
Federal prosecutors claim that Eisenberg engaged in activities such as manipulating commodities and committing wire fraud by using a very successful trading strategy on the decentralized cryptocurrency exchange Mango Markets, which is based on the Solana blockchain, back in October 2022.
The trial is taking place in the Southern District of New York, where a group of lawyers successfully secured the conviction of Sam Bankman-Fried in a case that was resolved in less than a year.
Eisenberg’s trial was also progressing quickly until late October. At that time, the Bureau of Prisons transferred him from a federal jail in New Jersey to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, hindering defense lawyers from preparing for his trial scheduled for December 8, as mentioned in a legal filing.
