Animoca Brands Japan, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, and San FranTokyo, a metaverse development studio, have announced a strategic investment and partnership with Cool Cats, a popular NFT collection, to accelerate its expansion into the Japanese and anime markets.
As part of the partnership, Animoca Brands Japan has purchased equity shares in Cool Cats Group LLC, and San FranTokyo has purchased NFTs of all three Cool Cats collections from the secondary market.
“This partnership is more than just about business growth,” said Daisuke Iwase, the CEO of Animoca Brands Japan. “Animoca Brands Japan together with San FranTokyo are excited to create more opportunities for the Cool Cats IP to grow.”
Animoca Brands Japan, San FranTokyo, and Cool Cats view the strategic partnership as a fusion of cultures, ideas, and visions aiming to captivate and cater to both global and local audiences.
To honour the new partnership Animoca Brands Japan and San FranTokyo will help Cool Cats forge new relationships with some of Japan’s most prominent organisations in entertainment and IP.

The two companies will also work together to develop new Cool Cats-themed Web3 products and experiences, collaborate with Japanese anime and manga studios, and market and promote Cool Cats to Japanese consumers.
The partnership is a significant step for Cool Cats, as it gives the company access to Animoca Brands Japan’s expertise in the Japanese market and San FranTokyo’s network of anime and manga studios.
