The extradition request of Do Kwon, the infamous founder of collapsed crypto project Terra (LUNA), is approved by a Montenegro court on November 24.
The High Court of Podgorica has shared a release determining the legal requirements for Do Kwon’s extradition to either the United States or his hometown South Korea.
While both countries want to interrogate Kwon over his alleged involvement in the collapse of Terra, which caused the wiping out of nearly $40 billion in no time, it is now up to Montenegro’s Minister of Justice to decide whether Kwon will be handed to the U.S. or South Korea.
In September, the Terra founder requested a court to dismiss his extradition against the SEC in the United States while suggesting questioning him in Montenegro where he was out on bail. However, the SEC continued to seek Do Kwon in the United States while investigating the Terra collapse and his company Terraform Labs.
The SEC has also questioned a number of entities relating to Terraform including the federal agency recently probing the president of Jump Crypto President Kanav Kariya over a suspicious deal between him and Do Kwon.
