A hacker who exploited a vulnerability in the CashioApp cryptocurrency exchange has begun laundering stolen funds through Tornado Cash, a privacy-focused mixing service. CashioApp suffered the hack in March due to an ‘infinite mint glitch’, losing nearly $52.8 million worth of assets from the project.
According to Peckshield, the “CashioApp Exploiter 2” wallet has initiated the laundering of stolen funds through the use of Tornado Cash. Approximately 2,300 Ethereum ($ETH) have been traced to this movement.
It’s alleged that the individual behind the labeled “CashioApp Exploiter 2” address has begun funneling stolen funds through Tornado Cash, a privacy-focused platform known for obfuscating transaction trails.
