Despite discontinuing its services in India in October, the global cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase is actively increasing its workforce in the country.
The company is looking to fill various product and technology positions, both for remote work and at its locations in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. They are currently seeking candidates for roles such as software engineers, engineering managers for platform payments, data scientists, and vendor management analysts and more.
Although the exact number of new hires is unknown, Coinbase has posted around 30 open positions on its LinkedIn page in the last three weeks.
According to anonymous sources, Coinbase, along with other crypto companies like Gemini, is focusing on establishing technology talent hubs in India.
Following Coinbase’s announcement of multiple rounds of layoffs starting in 2022, where approximately 950 employees were let go in January 2023, the company faced challenges.
