Coinbase Global Inc. has unveiled a feature in its Coinbase Wallet that is transforming the way cryptocurrency transactions are conducted. This new function allows users to transfer crypto assets and stablecoins like USDC through various social media platforms, streamlining the sending and receiving of digital currencies.
The enhancement focuses on making crypto transfers simpler, quicker, and more cost-effective. Users can now generate a payment link in the Coinbase Wallet and share it via messaging apps like WhatsApp, iMessage, Telegram, or email.
This feature extends to social media platforms, including Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok, and Instagram.Launched globally, the service is accessible in over 170 countries and supports 20 languages, enabling recipients to claim their crypto anywhere.
Coinbase’s update eliminates the need for multiple apps or extensive searches for usernames and transaction profiles. The service promises instant settlement without any associated fees. If recipients do not have the Coinbase Wallet app, they will be directed to download it and can easily set up a new wallet.
Notably, unclaimed funds are returned to the sender after two weeks. Coinbase’s blog post highlights the convenience of this method over traditional banking, especially for international transfers, underscoring their commitment to simplifying the payment experience for users worldwide.
