The Sandbox Metaverse platform recently revealed a partnership with Warner Music Group and the estate of the late rapper Notorious B.I.G. The collaboration aims to create a virtual area in Brooklyn, New York, inspired by the artist, named ‘Breakin’ B.I.G.’
In this experience, players can engage with a non-playable avatar of the rapper in a 2D arcade-style world, taking on quests as an aspiring rap star. These tasks involve assisting the virtual Brooklyn community and facing off against B.I.G.’s rivals within The Sandbox.
The virtual environment, inspired by Brooklyn, New York, serves as a tribute to Christopher Wallace, widely known as Notorious B.I.G., who rose to fame in the 1990s and sadly passed away in 1997.
Elliot Osagie, Chief Strategy Officer of Notorious B.I.G.’s Estate, mentioned that this collaboration brings the 90s-style side-scrolling game to an innovative Web3 platform, ensuring that the world created by the rapper continues to be enjoyed by fans.
Alongside the B.I.G. Sandbox experience, a new collection of NFT avatars will be launched, and Warner Music Group’s social hub will receive updates. Sebastien Borget, COO and Co-Founder of The Sandbox, expressed excitement for players to explore the vibrant Brooklyn environment with its arcade-inspired atmosphere.
Notorious B.I.G.’s virtual representation now joins other voxel-style celebrity avatars in the game, including Elvis Presley, Snoop Dogg, Paris Hilton, Deadmau5, and Steve Aoki.
