According to a recent report, national securitt officials from the US, Japan and South Korea are joining forces to tacke the issue of recent cyber attacks involving North Korea.
According to Bloomberg, recent discussions between the three countries have involved the nature of North Koreaās connection with Russia.
Note that the U.S and South Korea had previously accused North Korea of supplying ammunition to Russia during its invasion of Ukraine, allegedly supporting the DPRKāS military activities in return.
Meanwhile, Lazarus Group, a group of hackers which has been reported to be sponsored by North Korea have been behind some recent cyber attacks on crypto platforms like Axie Infinity and Harmony, which resulted in the loss of funds.
The U.S authorities have claimed that North Korea is funneling these stolen funds into its missile development program.
In a recent attempt to counter these activities, the office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the United States Department of the Treasury has sanctioned crypto mixer Sinbad, alleging that the mixer was used by the Lazarus group to launder the stolen funds.
However, this is one of few sanctions from (OFAC) on crypto mixers, the office has also taken actions against Blender and Tornado cash.
