A liquid staking protocol on Solana, Jito, has identified a major Sybil attack on the recently launched airdrop of its JTO token.
Jito shared that Sybil abusers posed a major challenge by submitting multiple entries and ruining the integrity of the airdrop. These attackers participated in the JTO airdrop by creating numerous addresses to appear distinct.
With the help of Allium Labs, Jito managed to identify such attackers and proceeded to remove a significant number of airdrop points for them.
Jito recently started distributing JTO tokens to eligible users for its airdrop – which is estimated to give away over 90 million JTO tokens, amounting to approximately $240 million.
