Casio, the Japanese electronics company, has introduced a special collection of digital art collectibles featuring its popular G-Shock watches.
This exclusive set includes 2,000 NFT art pieces showcasing futuristic “Virtual G-Shock” designs, and they will be available for purchase on Saturday at 3:00 a.m. for advance sale. These NFTs will be available for general sales starting from December 18 to December 20.
This is Casio’s second venture into the world of NFTs, following the release of free G-Shock Creator Pass NFTs on the Ethereum scaling network Polygon in September.
Buyers of these Ethereum NFTs will enjoy unique privileges, such as exclusive behind-the-scenes experiences with Casio.
This includes a tour of the G-Shock Endurance Test Laboratory in Tokyo, where the brand’s renowned durability testing takes place.
Additionally, collectors will have the opportunity to participate in a roundtable discussion with designers, gaining insights into the creative process behind the virtual G-Shock models.
Moreover, those who own Virtual G-Shock watches will get exclusive access to behind-the-scenes design materials related to the watches. They will also have the first chance to purchase the next set of Virtual G-Shock NFTs.
There are two Virtual G-Shock designs to choose from: the VGA-001 featuring a “balloon concept” and the VGA-002 with a “leaf spring concept.” Both designs explore creative concepts that wouldn’t be achievable with traditional physical materials.
Each design has 1,000 editions available, and they are priced at 0.1 ETH, which is approximately $230 at the moment of this writing. Those who obtained Polygon passes earlier were given a special opportunity to purchase these Ethereum NFTs in advance.
