Ninjalerts boldly integrates a Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) emulator onto the Bitcoin network. This move allows users to relive classic games through their browsers using Ordinals Explorers and Marketplace.
This initiative is part of the “Pizza Ninjas” NFT project to preserve endangered classic video games. Ninjalerts offers a secure method for storing and playing these timeless titles.
The urgency of this mission is highlighted by a study from the Video Game History Foundation, which found 87% of classic U.S. games to be critically endangered.
Ninjalerts CEO, emphasizing the importance of this project, said, “We’re not just revisiting the games we love; we’re ensuring they’re not lost to time.”
However, the project faces significant costs due to the high price of inscribing data onto the Bitcoin blockchain. Despite this, Ninjalerts sees the Bitcoin network’s robust infrastructure as the ideal place for long-term preservation.
Despite these concerns, Ninjalerts is pushing forward, demonstrating the versatile potential of blockchain technology.
By marrying the past with the present, they’re reigniting childhood memories and pioneering a new approach to digital preservation.
