According to Agriculture Secretary Abu Bakr Siddiqui on Wensdadey, Ranchi, Jharkhand is the first state to employ blockchain technology for seed delivery to farmers to reduce the threat of intermediaries.
Farmers are currently receiving seed based on one-time passwords (OPTs) texted to their mobile phones.
Speaking of the accomplishments of the state government over the past four years, he stated that, out of the intended eight lakh farmers, 4.6 lakh had benefited from the agriculture department’s waiver of Kishan Credit Card loans totaling Rs1,853.3 crore.
He stated that the eligible farmer can complete the application and receive the advantages of the plan, but the department is having trouble finding the farmers because many of them have either moved or passed away.
Milk production has grown thanks to the program that offers dairy farmers an incentive of three per liter and the establishment of dairy processing units in the districts of Sahiganj, Palamu, and Deoghar. According to Siddiqui, the amount of milk collected each day has climbed from 1.30 lakh to 2.5 lakh per liter.
According to the source, the Chief Minister Drought Relief Scheme has received 45.5 lakh applications from the department. After verification, 13.9 lakh beneficiaries have got a distribution of Rs 478 crore.
